Day 6

Miles- 67

Oconagan, WA to Republic, WA

Weather- hot 91 midday

Another steep climb today, after 20+ miles of rolling hills, we rose 4000 ft to Wauconda pass. Then we went down to Republic. We were getting a mail drop in town the next day, because the post office is closed on Sunday and we really needed to do laundry. We decided to get a hotel because there were no campsites in town. The hotel had a laundry facility for us to get rid of the rank odor that seemed to follow us around. We also got to get in a jacuzzi.

Matt got to watch some politics and sports and Laureen got some Law and Order.

We met John and Jerry who are biking the Northern Tier. They are both from Maine.

    Hi Matt & Laureen,

You sound pretty tired … or maybe I’m just tired from reading your blog! In any case, hang in there. There are lots of kids in Kenya needing food, clothing, shelter, a bath house and education. You guys are doing great work! God is smiling!!!

Be safe and I will check in on your adventure next week…guess what? I am drinking my morning coffee out of the wedding mug - happy anniversary on Monday!
