Day 5
Miles- 58
Mazzama, WA to Ocanagon, WA
Weather- Warm 86 midday and still warm when we set up our tent.
Slept in till 7:45. Loved having a bed and pillow to sleep on. We also went out for breakfast in a little Western town.
The map showed a steep 12 mile climb and Matt and Laureen were not sure they were up to the climb after 40 miles that morning. After a little rest we decided to trudge on through the climb and were glad we did. As it turned out we got a second wind and the climb seemed quite easy. (Jon still beat us to the top) After the climb, we dropped into Okanagan and slept in the town park right along the river, where the mosquitoes were terrible. We met two other bikers, two retired teachers, doing a section of the Northern Tier. (Merlin and Bee)
